Cisco Certified Network Associate
CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is a certification provided by the company Cisco Systems to individuals who have rendered the corresponding exam successfully on Internet and network infrastructure. It is aimed at professionals operating networking equipment. Another way to get CCNA certification is through official Cisco course with the same name, featured on Cisco networking academies worldwide, divided into four modules, and lasts about two years.
There are different levels of certification in the operating line, recently launched a certification from technical and professional level concentrations calls and so far only concentrations wireless networks, voice over IP and security but they are all CCNA level, ie one can be certified as CCNA wireless networks for example. CCNA Cisco Networking Academy
A typical Cisco Academy boratoriode incorporates the practices that includes a topology 3 Cisco routers connected in series (previous versions used in 5-router topology) and these in turn are connected by an ethernet port (Fastethernet) to a cisco switch; with this topology are all kinds of connecting and setting practices. During the first semester, the students assembled, tested and used network cables following the standards for different types of existing wiring.
Classes are held online via a network connection program in which tests are also evaluated on periodic score. At the same time, a number of qualified instructors, are responsible for providing lessons and exercises provide students with practical and password recovery and configuration of VLANs and ACLs among others. Students also receive a software that emulates the lab topology so they can practice and become familiar with the configuration commands at home. The minimum score required to pass each exam is 70% and some tests include laboratory tests. An alternative way to prepare before attempting certification exam, are called Learning Partners that have higher demands for their instructors but cost much more and are shorter than regular courses at the Academies.
Cisco Certified Network Professional
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is the intermediate level certification company. To obtain this certification, have to overcome several tests, classified by the company in 3 modules.
This certification is the intermediate general Cisco certification is not as valued as the CCIE, but, much more than the CCNA.
There is also a preparatory course of the same name, featured on Cisco networking academies where they often provide CCNP modules. Version 5.0 is in force since 2006 about the previous (version 3.0), included these modules:

The CCNP certification exams could be performed virtually worldwide, through Pearson VUE and Prometric companies. Since July 2007, can only be made in Pearson VUE. The CCDP certification validates an intermediate knowledge level network design. CCNA and CCDA certifications are required valid for CCDP certification. There are two common exams (642-901 BSCI & 642-812 BCMSN) between CCDP and CCNP certification which allows a person certified CCNP CCDA and CCDP certification with only one additional test (642-873 ARCH).

The Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) Cisco is the highest level of professional certification
CCIE
CCIE is an advanced level certification for professionals who have "the training, experience and confidence to tackle the most challenging of his field."
